LIST
OF DEATHS IN CUSTODY
The
following list provides names, dates and places of those cases in which
the Turkish authorities either did not provide any information or where
the official response contradicts information received by Amnesty International
from other sources. Cases where the authorities confirmed the deaths to
be the result of torture are listed at the end. Cases without contradictory
information and where the causes of death were stated as not directly related
to torture have been omitted. The list gives the date on which Amnesty
International believes death occurred and the place in which the prisoner
was held.
