Article | 8 |
Decision | violation |
The applicant, Abdülkadir Uslu, is a Turkish national who was born in 1968 and lives in Istanbul. At the relevant time he was detained at Inebolu Prison. Relying on Article 8 (right to respect for private and family life), the applicant complained about the Turkish authorities’ refusal to provide him with a copy of the results of a medical examination he underwent in prison. The Court held unanimously that there had been a violation of Article 8 and that the finding of a violation in itself constituted sufficient just satisfaction for the non-pecuniary damage sustained by the applicant. (The judgment is available only in English.)
